Stump grinding, so the lawn forgets the tree was there
Serving Clallam County and Jefferson County
A stump is a tripping hazard, a mower obstacle, and a carpenter-ant hotel with a twenty-year lease. Our tracked grinder fits through gates, works close to structures, and takes stumps well below grade — deep enough to replant grass, and deeper on request if you are pouring or planting over it.
01 — What grinding includes
We grind the stump 6–12 inches below grade as standard, chase the major surface roots so they stop lifting your lawn, and leave the chips mounded in the hole or haul them and backfill — your choice. Chips settle; if you want soil-ready ground the same week, say so at the estimate and we will plan the backfill.
The machine is compact and tracked, so it gets through standard gates and across lawns without trenching your yard. We arrange utility locates before we grind — that is on us to handle, not on you to guess.
Timeline
Most stumps are under an hour each. We usually pair grinding with a removal; stand-alone grinding gets its own visit, often within the same week.
What drives the price
Stump diameter and how many. Access matters — a stump the machine can reach across a lawn costs less than one behind a gate and up a slope.
